circa 1865, with round 8in. sighted barrel, plain numbered cylinder, plain hinged frame stamped 'STARR PATENT JAN 10 1856' on the right hand side and 'STARR ARMS CO NEW-YORK' on the left, 'W' inspector's initial, smooth flared walnut one-piece grip with martial cartouche (faint) and a large '161' stamped to lower left hand side and iron under-barrel loading lever, traces of original finish
